Passed away in Bendigo 24.01.2018. Formerly of “The Vale” via Balranald and Kerang. Loving wife of Phil and friend to his family. Dearly loved wife of Michael Butler (dec) and loving mother to John, Peter, Brendan (dec), Christopher, Patricia, Bernadette (dec), Daniel, Catherine, Shane, Adrian and their families.
Funeral Notice
Service held Wednesday January 31, 2018 - 11:00amThe funeral for the late Mrs Marie Keenan (Butler) will be held at St Dympnas Catholic Church, Mayall Street Balranald on Wednesday 31st January commencing at 11am. Followed by a Burial in the Balranald Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Ovarian Cancer Research appreciated.

Marie was a nice lady. She will be missed by many. Our sympathies to Phil and their family.

My dear Mum, the strongest bravest and kindest person in the world. We are so proud of you and the dignity and courage you showed through the last two years was the same as your whole 85 years. You have left us a huge legacy, we all have bits of your beautiful looks, your tough spirit, your humour, your resilience, and it is this that will help us move forward from this massive irreplaceable loss. We will all do you proud, just as you always wanted us to do Dad proud.
You never asked for much and you were so proud of your ‘kids’ and you always rang and filled us in on what all the other ‘kids’were up to. I am reading some of your boarding school letters to me, so many memories of what you got up to when we were away at school, and your love is in every letter.
Your strength through the tragedies you were dealt with is what will keep us going. Dad could never have dreamt of the way you were able to continue to be the rock and glue for our whole family.
I am so glad you go to do so many of the things you liked, such as the travel with Phil, the band and music and concerts you loved so much over the last 25 years once the last of us dash kids grew up!

Marie, We will miss you, You were such a great person very loving and caring. I know you were so proud of your family and particularly your grandchildren. We would hear at length all of the achievements of your family members and you said it with so much pride and passion and it showed how proud you were.
Marie was a great lady who will be sorely missed.

Marie Therese Keenan (Butler) (nee) Harrick, loved daughter of John & Gretta Harick (deceased) and beloved sister of Patricia ( deceased), Dorothy, John and sister-in-law Pam. Special aunt of Mark, Phillip, Michele, Louise, Clare, Julie, Lisa and their families. The courage and cheerfulness she displayed through the many challenges of her life was inspirational to us all and we will miss her dearly.

Such sadness at your passing but a blessing you are no longer in pain.
Phil by your side along the way and children with theirs, you’ve all suffered.
This time has now past and the grieving begins.
Alas more pain. Let it wash over you immersed and safe in the love that you all shared. It will never go away but it will heal to just a bruise on your hearts ????
Take care of each other as Marie would want. Safe in the knowledge that she is always with you, always with a smile.
