Frank Clyde Stephen Witnish
Passed away on 7th September 2020, aged 90 years.
Dearly loved husband of Jean, loved stepfather of David and Jenny, loved Pappa to Allison and David, Belinda and Tim, and Karen. Also loved by his great grandchildren Madeline, Jack, Elizabeth, Harry, William and Grace. He will be sadly missed by all.
Loved and remembered forever.

Private serviceIn accordance with recent changes to funeral services a private service will be held for Frank followed by a burial at Swan Hill Memorial Park.
A tribute can be left on our website as you remember Frank's life and to express condolences to the family whom are able to read, reflect and treasure.

Frank was a founder member of the ‘Dribblers’ who in later years became the Dads Army golfing group and was one of only two Honorary Members. His company was enjoyed on the golf course for many years. Jean, along with Frank, was a valued member of our group and we send her our sincere sympathy.

We were all saddened to hear of the passing of
Frank Clyde Stephen Witnish
and we offer our sincerest condolences to Jean (loving wife to Frank).
Although we were not able to spend that much time with Uncle Frank in his later years, I do choose to remember the good time memories that we shared with Uncle Frank when the families visited Maryborough (Vic) at Barkly Street and again in Newton Street.
Among the many good memories, Uncle Frank taught me to fish and I remember when I caught a 9 pound red fin fish with him in a boat on the lake in Maryborough – Uncle Frank was busily rowing the boat and yelling keep the rod up Stephen.
Uncle Frank was also the person who kindled my interest in baking and cooking. When Uncle Frank came home from Trentham where he worked as a Baker, he would take the time to show me how to make crumpets and cook turkeys in the large wood fired bread ovens.
While Uncle Frank’s passing is sad for all of us who had the privilege of knowing him, I rejoice in the fact that he didn’t suffer long in pain.
I know that Frank’s first love was Jean; however his second love was golf. While I didn’t get to caddy for him, I did follow him around the golf course many times. I know in my heart that Uncle Frank is now up there somewhere on a par 3 teeing off, looking down on us all.
We are all the better for knowing Uncle Frank and we will remember him with our fond memories.

Uncle Frank you were dearly loved and we will miss your physical presence. This last week Ross & I have shared many fond memories of Uncle Frank- talking about the many good times we shared over the years wih Frank and Jean. He always welcomed us with a smile, a cold drink or two and good food – mostly Jeans good cooking but occassionally Franks. Ross recalls eating the best yellow belly he ever tasted while looking at photos of massive Murray cod that Frank had caught which were nearly as long as Frank. Uncle Frank, I have known you as long as I can remember. Christmases, family gathering, baking bread, mowing lawns, serving beers are all in my memories of you. I remember when you first introduced Jean. Together, travelling a long, happy and loving journey, picking up a family on the way – Grandpa.

Good sporting memories Frank from trout fishing at Lake Eucumbene, going through pics of your big Murray Cod to having a feed of yellow belly at Swan Hill. We enjoyed the odd game of golf and a few beers after. Your beloved Fitzroy moving to Brisbane, watching cricket and most other sports. Always great company Frank , rest in peace I’ll have a couple of long necks tonight.
