40. Gen I first met you at antenatal classes, as a first time mum expecting twins and you expecting Danica. You gave me wonderful advice and a few laughs. At kinder and St Marys you continued to be a friendly ear with the continued helpful advice for us young mums( me not so young). You were always prepared to help out with any fundraising activities and provided some laughs along the way. Then when I was carer for Pat and Aunty Lois your wisdom and advice continued to help me with my role as carer. Your ability to listen and help with advice on kids or the elderly in my family has been invaluable. You will be missed by whole community. God has taken one of the best. Rest In Peace Gen.     “A friend is someone who shares with you a smile, a tear, a hand.” (Conover)and you were my friend, despite being separated by time and distance in recent years we had so much in common. Both of us were nurses, married Watchem farming men, our older children were the same age, sharing kinder runs, doing the same things, school, dancing and netball and we always lived relatively near except of course for when I went to the NT. So many shared experiences, drought, rain, the Donald hospital, Watchem social events, painful divorces, debutante balls and celebrations. I remember visiting you in hospital after Georgina was born as if it was only yesterday, the beautiful children’s clothes you made, I still have the beautiful frock and apron combo you made for Stephanie, celebrating your wedding to Jack who we all loved. I just always felt a connection with you, balancing children, farms, work, and in-laws. I always felt that ‘you got it’ you knew.
    I admired you; I thought I was a hard worker, but your discipline and work ethic meant you could outwork me any day. So incredibly creative, you always made a lovely home for you and your family. A true nurse skilled, trustworthy, and compassionate, one of those treasures that one only tends to find in a country community, immunising not only my own children but my grandchildren, providing nursing care to my parents, there would not be many Buloke shire families, for whom your bright smile has not brought reassurance and kindness, you will be missed my dear.

59. Gen and I met at a rural conference and then later were inseparable at a Nurse Practitioner conference. It is fair to say that we had an instant connection.     What a life you have had Gen, you have been a wonderful care giver all around the area and everyone in Donald will sadly miss you.
    We Have just watched your funeral online for I was not well enough to go to the service it was a beautiful service and your daughters did a wonderful job of telling everyone your story and your life we did not realise you had done so much and what a nursing career you had. 👩‍⚕️

94. Such sad news of your passing. Life is not measured by the length of time earthside but how we live while we are here. You are someone who touched and impacted so many lives in your orbit in such a positive way .

    We met at St Martin’s in the Pines and all went our different ways and luckily we all reconnected after 40 years and have shared some fun days together.

    My sincere condolences to the Foott and Dooley families and all your pals that will be heartbroken with you gone.
