【 Flying angel with smoke 】

Peter. Peter. Peter. Thank you for helping me to build my Jabiru .

You scolded me since day one when we received the kit plane.

“You’ve bugged it up again! We’re not building a model plane! We’re building a real plane! You bug it up you fix it. This is a golden rule. OK?”

But you always fixed it. Because you didn’t like how I fixed it.

You smoked at least dozen a day.

And asked me, “Please don’t tell Kay about it. Once I smoke so much she will kill me .”

The Jabiru took us six months to complete . We spent nearly every day together. The first day it was completed, we taxied around the Narrogin Airport strip in the new bird . Your face was glowing. You seemed so proud of what we had created .

You showed off the Jabiru to the gliding club people while taxing up and down in front of their club house.

And said to them, “This is a first four seater Jabiru in the state. What a nice plane isn’t it?”

I asked you how you won Kay’s hand, for Kay is a beautiful and popular woman.

You said, “I made a lot of effort. She was traveling Australia with a couple of her girl friends . I fell in love the moment I saw her. When I heard that she got a job in the north, I quit my job and followed her; I settled down to the same remote Kimberley town where she was working as a nurse .”

Peter ,I know you are free now .Enjoy flying without wings; perhaps you’ve got new wings in the back like a angel.

Yes, you’re helping others all the time like an angel, a flying angel with smoke .

    We will never forget you.

Deepest Sympathies to Kay, Deb, Mat and Family.
