To Sue and Family,
Whilst I haven’t met you, ‘Mr Winbanks’ is a part of my ‘history’ having boarded with us upon his arrival at Turriff and teaching myself (and the entire School) at the Turriff State School back in the 1970’s. As it happens, we had a small gathering (reunion) in early November this year and those present all spoke fondly of ‘Mr Winbanks’ and it was our intention to make contact with a personal invitation to ‘a proper’ School Reunion for October 8th 2023. Everyone will be saddened to learn of his passing but we shall be sure to remember and acknowledge him on the day. I hope it brings some comfort for you and your family at this sad time, knowing he was highly regarded and long remembered as a favourite Teacher.
Debbie (Mott) Riley -
