Rest in peace to a beautiful Aunt, one who loved her family and was loved by her siblings with the regular phone calls from my Dad, Bob, to Rene on Sunday evenings as demonstration of this. We loved visiting Ettrick, all because of the generous love she gave her nieces and nephews.
-
RIP Our darling Rene It was an absolute pleasure to look after you. I loved listening to your stories. You are a beautiful lady. Lots of love to all your family. ????????

A true “lady” in every sense of the word.
Very fond memories are mine to keep, her love of family and friends and farming.
Always gracious and kind.
A personal memory being part of the presentation of her “Life Membership” to the Homebush Recreation Club.
Love and blessings to all her family.
A wonderful life, well lived. -
Sending my love to all of Rene’s family at this sad time. Rene would have loved to live forever I’m sure. It was an honour caring for Rene in her last years. The stories we swapped I’ll never ever forget! If you wanted to see Rene’s eyes shine just mention one of her children’s names, gosh she loved them fiercely. Rene also loved having babies or small children visit her- she never lost her touch, gently cradling my newborns or rattling the bikkie tin for a sticky fingered toddler. Will miss you Renie, but I’m sure Kieran had a glass ready and met you with “Chars!”

On July 30 we will celebrate, here at Walmer Downs, the life of Rene who was born here. To a beautiful former neighbour of Ettrick, we will toast your life and honour you with a chocolate cake, probably not as good as the one you used to make for Al, but it was just his favourite and a great excuse for him to go over to Ettrick for the water reading. With a glass of champagne in hand on the front verandah, we’ll say cheers to Rene and her sisters, who spent a lovely day together reminiscing the past.
To her family we send best wishes at this sad time, but the joy is having all the treasured memories of such a lovely lady.
Big hugs to you all Alan & Tina Powis -
At Walmer Downs, (Rene’s birthplace), on July 30, we will remember and and honour her with the order of the Chocolate Cake and of course her favourite, a glass of wine. The chocolate cake was always Al’s favourite and present when he went over to Ettrick for the water readings.
To her family we send best wishes at this sad time, but there is also the joy of having all the treasured memories to keep of such a lovely lady.
Big hugs to you all Alan & Tina Powis xx -
