Much loved wife of Travis. Most amazing mother of Wil and Aud.
Cherished daughter of Rod and Kerri, loved daughter in law of John and Marg and all their families.

Service held Thursday July 7, 2022 - 1:30pmA Funeral service will be held for Laura Jane Benham at the Grain Shed, Church of Christ, 2-8 King Street, Swan Hill on Thursday 7th July commencing at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Memorial Park, Lawn D.

Laura, my cousin, how brave you always were. Even trekking down to hang with us in Ballarat almost 20 years ago – you didn’t even know us but I am so grateful you made that move, it was just like we grew up hanging out all the time. Laura made everyone feel like they were heard and seen. She always had a quote or a saying or a line from a movie or song that would be the truest teaching in that moment. Laura knew when to make you laugh or say get up and keep on going. She was the one to text or chat to on a whim because you knew you’d be a better person by the end of it. The Swan Hill Primary School community was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our much-loved and respected teacher, Mrs. Benham.
Laura was known for her ability to form special connections with all of her students. She went above and beyond to make sure every one of her students was cared for and provided with learning programs to suit their ability and interests. She was an amazing teacher and person.
Laura also formed meaningful bonds with all of her colleagues and always showed compassion and empathy for other peoples struggles, despite having her own. Laura was a wonderful advocate for Swan Hill Primary School and always promoted the school in a positive light. We will miss her dedicated approach and humour. Laura truly was one of a kind and she will be forever in our thoughts.

Laura was an amazing woman and a great teacher. I don’t know of anyone who says to a student in grade 4 she will be at her graduation from high school and then turn up at the graduation with beautiful flowers and makes her day. Laura helped Emily through all of her schooling years Em wouldn’t be about to graduate from uni as a nurse without the support and help from Laura for all those years. You really are a shining star Laura. Deepest condolences for Trav, Will and Audrey and families.
