Dear Myf and family, so sorry to hear of your loss of a wonderful man. We have great memories of going on excursions to the Mallee bush areas to observe our native flora and fauna. Seeing Neil and Norma collecting native plants for the herbarium. And others such as Grace, Ray, Wally, and Bob, in the MMFN, naming the plants we saw, as we walked through the bush. Seeing Neil, Max, Jack, Barry H and others with their binoculars and cameras, watching, photographing and naming the native birds that they observed. Seeing Neil, Barry W, Jack, Max and others photographing and naming our natural creatures – snakes, lizards, moths, butterflies, bats, and native mice. The stories and the friendship around the campfires at the annual campouts. The submissions, articles and letters Neil wrote to help protect our native flora and fauna, especially our Mallee Fowl. What a great childhood we had, great memories of
wonderful mentors like Neil. Our sympathy to Myf and family, Meg & Judy Irvin -
Sending deepest sympathy to Myf and family. A wonderful man. A treasure to talk with and learn from. What a legacy he leaves – an inspiration to all who love nature and a reminder that one person can make a difference. Sympathy also to all the Field Naturalist members who will miss him so much.
