Funeral Notice
Service held Thursday May 4, 2023 - 11:30amThe family of the late Patricia Marie McMahon warmly invites family, friends, and associates of Patricia to join them on Thursday May 4th, 2023, at the “Betting Ring”, Swan Hill Jockey Club as a remembrance and celebration of Patricia’s life.
The family will greet friends from 11.00 am and a memorial will commence at 11.30 am for which we ask that you become part of this service. Please bring something to show or say or both. Brightly coloured clothing and great bling would be the order of the day’s apparel. Seating will be provided and as “she” said it might rain there’ll be undercover protection. A cremation will take place later in a private event.
Heavy and light refreshments will be provided. Bring a designated driver.
We wish to encourage you to express your sympathies and condolences to the family via a tribute on this announcement which the family are able to read, reflect and treasure.

Every time we saw her she was such a happy, bubbly soul, always going to a meeting, a function, or just popping in to say hello. Patricia you will be sadly missed.

Patricia was a leader in questioning beliefs and the norms whilst influencing others around her to do the same. I am thankful to have inherited and learnt from a strong woman to always explore the counter opinion and come up with your own conclusion. This formula of Patricia’s makes room for many wonderful and unique minds pushing the boundaries and moving forward. Our world was lucky to have had you, I will miss our deep conversations.

Sending our sincere sympathy and condolences to Patricia’s family and friends. We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Patricia’s sudden passing. She was a vibrant and vital member of Camberwell Group, Speaking Made Easy, and will be sadly missed by all of us. Patricia’s attention to detail, willingness to give, and extensive knowledge and experience enabled her to fill important roles at all levels within our speaking club. She also helped others learn about running meetings, and to develop confidence in public speaking skills. Her speeches and workshops were memorable and inspiring, with plenty of dramatic flair. Patricia will be remembered fondly for her love of bright colours, attractive hair accessories, and sparkling bling, which she wore for everyday meetings, as well as on special occasions such as Group Anniversaries and Conventions. Our thoughts go out to Patricia’s family, and her wide circle of friends and community colleagues, as everyone remembers and celebrates a life well-lived.

We are so sadden to hear of the sudden passing of Patricia. Our hearts go out to you all Matt, Bec, Memphis, Fox, Peter and Alan. May the beautiful memories you hold bring you some comfort during these sad and difficult times.
Patricia lived life to the fullest and was a fun and fabulous Aunt. We will forever cherish the beautiful memories of her, especially the many D & M’s over steak and wine on the banks of Lake Boga. The annual bad Santa gift giving by Patricia was definitely entertaining and she always included everyone and anyone at our camp, such a generous thing to do. We will continue this in honour of Patricia. Her spontaneous visits on her way through Melbourne and never missing any of our birthdays was always so thoughtful.
We will miss Patricia dearly, she will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My condolences to all of Tricia’s family and friends. I was shocked to hear of Tricia’s sudden death last week, although separated by distance in recent years I will treasure always those long late night telephone conversations, putting the world to rights and reminiscing over times past. Very fond memories of many weekends spent at ‘Reflections’, such a warm and welcoming place. Tricia’s warmth, effervescent personality and colourful style will remain in our collective memory for ever.

To Patricia’s dearest family and large circle of dear friends sending you our sincere condolences at her sudden passing. Patricia was Speaking Made Easy’s (previously Penguin Club of Australia) current Victorian State President and Acting Treasurer. Patricia was a most committed member of our Club for 38 years, taking on many roles. Patricia was a wonderful community member and was so proud of her town Lake Boga. Patricia knew how to create a sense of arrival with her many speech presentations at national conventions and state luncheons over the years. More recently in South Australia at our convention, Patricia as our State President, made a grand entrance for an after-dinner speech on the topic “Present with Pizzazz”. This topic was perfectly suited to Patricia who gave an amazing speech with her glam and flamboyant personality, creating suspense and humour. Patricia could also be serious with her attention to detail, knowledge of constitutions and all things governance. Most of all, we will greatly miss Patricia as a dear friend, a mentor to many in our Club and being ever so caring of those around her. Patricia may you shine on in the night sky as a ‘bright star’ looking down on us and we can look back up toward you, and feel your presence and love. Rest in peace now dear friend.
