Mrs Dowell was such a lovely lady she was our sons Darren (dec) and Dwayne’s first teacher at the Pira Primary School in the 70’s . Sorry we are away at present so unable to attend service. Our love and thoughts are with you all. Leyster , Janice, Dwayne and family.

Mrs Dowell will be remembered as my first teacher, where she taught me from Prep to Grade 3, back in the “little room” at Pira Primary. She quickly earned the title of my most favourite teacher ever. No other teacher matched her graceful, kind and gentle ways towards learning. Mrs Dowell was always ready with a gentle smile and positive words, I never can remember her being cross or upset. She taught me many foundation skills, in particular, her way of tying shoelaces – which has become known as the “Mrs Dowell’s” way of doing up my shoes when around others who query my methods. Thus I am often reminded how lucky I was to have such a great teacher in my life. Wishing the family, friends and former students much kindness and support ,and may many other positive memories be shared, at this time. Louise Schaap (nee Maher)

Very fond memories of a truely beautiful and gentle lady. I met Pat while a young visiting music teacher and my visits to her classroom were highly inspirational. Her classroom skills were a treat to behold. Condolences to family.
