With great sadness, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Arthur Braine.

He passed away peacefully on Sunday the 18th July, 2021, aged 89 years.

We will remember a wonderfully kind, caring Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend, who will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral Notice

Private service

With the uncertainty of Covid19 restrictions a private service will be held for Bob at Swan Hill District Funerals, Curlewis Chapel. He will be laid to rest at the Moulamein Cemetery on Thursday 29th July at 2.30pm

Bob’s  service will be live streamed, please go to the Live Streaming tab on our home page (passcode provided to family).

We wish to encourage you to express your sympathies and condolences to the family via a tribute on this announcement which the family are able to read, reflect and treasure.

  3. Sorry to hear about uncle Bob’s passing. I reconnected with Bob when my dad Ken Holland returned home to Moulaiem. They also shared some time together at Ewards River Gardens. I will miss our family yarns RIP.

  6. I remember my early childhood spent at the property at Benji on the Edwards River not far from the Billabong Creek and my second cuz Bob would take me rabbit e fishing with all the bush tucker skills that was nurtured with his loving mother my great Aunt Honour nee Tassle

  8. Condolences to Bob’s siblings & their families. Growing up in Moulamein & every Christmas was a time to get a block of ice from Braines & Bob was always there, working hard & not saying much. Then when I worked in Turnleys Milk Bar, Bob & Charlie would escort their sisters in from the picture theatre to have a milkshake or cold drink. R.I.P. Bob.

    So sorry to hear of his passing.
    We loved Bob and are so thankful for all the years spent with him- from camping out at Benjee, Christmas time at nan and years of cups of teas and talks of the weather and gardening.
    My family is so thankful for his friendship and kindness. Bob was nans ( Esma Jowett) best friend and we will all miss him dearly.
