  1. Memories of my beautiful grandma…
The thing I remember most about my grandma when I was a child was grandma cuddles…she was a real bear-hugger and I loved it. She loved crosswords, which I used to love doing with her…looking up and learning new words along the way. I always think of grandma when doing crosswords.

She was a blue swimmer crab cleaner and cooker extraordinaire, but she did draw the line at cleaning fish! She’d happily cook the fish we caught but we had to clean our own catch, and that was ok…it was a great life skill for all of the grandkids (and great grandkids) to learn.

I remember fondly her creativity – she was an avid sewer for many years…a skill I never took to, but I always loved grandma’s sewing room and watching her create things. Later on she took to wax painting with an iron and then to her water paints – I’m pretty sure all of the grandchildren have some ‘grandma art’ in their homes.

I am so grateful that my children got to experience what it was to stay in Yattalunga – the mud and the fishing – but most of all the love (and great-grandma cuddles) of both grandma and grandad.

I love you grandma. Rest In Peace, you’ve had a great innings and will always be remembered and close to my heart…
